SDManager Release Notes
Version 4.1.8 (released on February 2, 2001)
-
SDProc/SDEdit: Problem with mixing up root directories ("C:\") and current
directories ("C:") has been fixed.
-
SDProc/SDEdit: When working on remote objects, SIDs that cannot be resolved
on the local computer, are now looked up on the remote machine (instead
of SID output in explicit format "S-1-...").
-
SDProc/SDEdit: In some cases enumeration of printer objects did not work.
This has been fixed.
-
SDProc: Accessing remote printer objects using wild cards ^* and ^? is
now supported (for shared printers).
-
SDEdit: Browser prints now computer and share name of network drives on
the local computer.
-
SDProc: When creating backup files, /access and /audit parameters are set
into quotation marks now. This is to avoid problems with account names,
that contain blank characters.
-
SDEdit: "SDProcessor" dialog (formerly "Advanced" dialog) is redesigned
to allow better arrangement of all dialogs.
Version 4.1.7 (internal version)
Version 4.1.6 (released on December 1, 2000)
-
SDEditor: Hidden shares (which end with $) are now listed in the browser
(except for standard shares like C$, IPC$, etc...).
-
SDProcessor: Hidden shares are also processed, when wildcard symbols *
and ? are used in object names.
-
SDEditor: The output window for SDProcessor displays special characters
(ä, ß, etc...) now in a correct way.
-
SDEditor/SDProcessor: There was a problem, when accessing entry keys of
the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, etc...) on remote machines ("Access denied").
This has been fixed.
-
SDEditor: The browser is now listing the registry keys HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
and HKEY_CURRENT_USER on remote machines.
-
SDProcessor: In some cases accessing new created objects without a SACL
(auditing) did not work in modify mode for auditing only. This has been
fixed.
-
SDEditor: The input fields "Name" and "Organization" of the registration
dialog have been merged.
Bug fix for Version 4.1.4 (released on October 4, 2000)
-
In some cases reading printers or shares could crash SDEditor/SDProcessor.
This has been fixed.
Version 4.1.4 (released on October 1, 2000)
-
The limit for SDProcessor command lines of 2kB has been removed.
-
Very large security descriptors produced error message 122 when reading
security. This has been fixed.
-
In some cases SACLs (auditing) were produced, that couldn't be read by
NT4's security editor. To avoid this incompatibility some audit masks are
now reduced before writing (e.g. full auditing for registry keys becomes
LCENQSRDP)
-
There was a bug in creating printer DACLs (permissions) by using SDEditor,
which produced non-standard ACLs and messed up inheritance flags. This
has been fixed.
-
Concerning all combo boxes in SDEditor: The contents of edit fields is
not stored in the corresponding list box, if it's longer than 1kb (e.g.
very long SDP-Lines). This is to avoid strange behavior of combos containing
very long strings on NT4 SP6.
-
Printer ACLs cannot be removed ("No ACL"). This is an unsolved problem
yet.
Version 4.1.3 (released on September 18, 2000)
-
Bug fix SDEditor: "Delete" entries were ignored when creating SDProcessor
commands in Modify Mode
-
Shared printers of remote computers are listed now in SDEditor's browser
Version 4.1.2 (released on July 25, 2000)
-
Bug fix for enumerating network resources (missing shares or computers
when using SDEditor's browser or wildcards)
-
Printer shares are not processed any longer when using wildcards
-
Printers and shares without security descriptor are shown correctly by
SDProcessor and SDEditor
